Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our rescued dogs from South Korea! Before you proceed with the application process, please read the following frequently asked questions.
The total cost is $750 USD. When we are unable to find a flight volunteer, you have an option to bring your dog via cargo.
Although flying via cargo is a quick alternative, the fees for the cargo cost more than traveling with a flight volunteer so please review the following cost comparison carefully.
When Traveling with a Flight Volunteer:
1. $600 Adoption Fee (effective August 05, 2021)
*Note: The flight fare will be doubled for dogs weigh more than 66 lbs (30kg)
2. $150 Custom Broker Fee ($250 for 2 dogs)
Our volunteers will submit all the required documents, clearance forms, and health records of your dog. You will pay the brokerage fee directly to the brokerage company
When Traveling via Cargo:
This is a quick alternative but the cargo fee has gone up significantly. As of March 2022, the cargo will cost around $3,500. Our volunteers are happy to assist you with additional questions and go over the cargo fee in detail.
It covers the ground transportation in South Korea from the shelter to airport, travel crate, quarantine inspection and certified health certificate, and flight associated costs. See above for detailed breakdown.
The average vet cost to rescue a single dog can range from $500 USD to $2,500 USD depending on the dog’s medical condition. Please note that your adoption fee does not cover the medical expenses (vaccinations, completed de-worming and heartworm tests, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, spay/neuter, microchip implantation, and any medical attention needed to ensure the dog is suitable for adoption).
All the medical expenses are covered by donations. We greatly appreciate our donors’ generous support! Please visit our Support page to see how you can help us to continue our mission to save dogs from high-kill shelters and dog meat farms.
Once your application is submitted, we will review your completed application which takes 7-14 days to process. As we are 100% volunteer run organization, we are unable to reply to each application unless you are selected for the next steps. You can send us a message if you haven’t back from us within 14 days of processing time.
Yes. All canines entering the U.S. must have health certificates and a Permit Entry issued by The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and an entry number issued by The Department of Homeland Security.
When you are at the airport, you will be provided with a health certificate that lists the completed vaccinations for Rabies, DHPPL, Caine Influenza, Corona, and Kennel Cough. The health certificates are in both Korean and English so you can show the health certificate to your veterinarian. Please note that our rescued dogs are on monthly flea/tick/mosquito/parasite preventions.
